"9288 km" - for Otar Iosseliani

Famous director was awarded by Primorsky region Governor's prize

10th anniversary film festival "Pacific Meridian" is just coming to its end, but two awards have already found it's owners.

Respectfull chairperson of Pusan IFF Kim Dong Ho has already got his award for "Great contribution to Asian cinema", and Primorsky region Governor's award '9288 km' - with words "For honour and dignity" - was awarded (at the Opening Ceremony) to Otar Iosseliani, great director.

Otar Iosseliani is a long-standing friend of "Pacific Meridian". He came here in 2007. At that time, answering Mass Media quastions, he said:

- Cinematograph - it's hard and merrily. Censorship is always near, a lot of influence from different sides. When structure resists, it is a real pleasure to conquer. That's like sculptors work with stone. Stone can break, that's why you should carefully split only these marble's peaces, which open real image, hiden inside. Material resistance is really important thing!

This year Otar Iosseliani brought an exhibition of his storyboards to Vladivostok; leaded master class; showed film "Les favoris de la lune".
