In the 1970s, when the Anti-Vietnam War movement had settled down and campus activism had drawn to an end, there was an atmosphere of lost emotion. Shin-ichi Abe, manga artist, who had moved from Kyushu to Tokyo, became a remarkable artist of "GARO", the comic magazine well-known for discovering and promoting many new manga artists.
