    Born in 1975. In 2000, graduated from the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors (workshop of V. Khotinenko, P. Finn, V. Fenchenko). In 2001, received a France government grant for studying at the Directing Dept. of La Femis, where he graduated from in 2005. Three times was a participant of the Cannes Film Festival: in 2005, with his short Together (2nd Cinefoundation prize), in 2006, with his debut feature 977 (within the program Un Certain Regard), in 2009 with his second feature Tale in the Darkness (within the program Un Certain Regard). Tale in the Darkness was entirely shot in Vladivostok. At Kinotavr-2009 the movie won Best Actor Award.

Angelina lives in a big city on the sea cost. She is pretty, intelligent, and nice, but lonely. She is a police officer and her job is helping abandoned kids, orphans, and troubled youngsters. One day one of her charges, a little boy, explains Angelina how lonely, dull and useless she is. Those words have been bothering her ever since, and she decides to change herself. Angelina starts her way through the darkness…
