Director: Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso
Italian filmmaker based in Rome. Since 1995 Leonardo has been working on the stage of the entertainment world as actor, director in theater. In 2000he started his career in film with different courses of acting, directing, cinematography, editing in Italy and abroad. Leonardo graduated in cinema at "La Sapienza" university of Rome and in filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in New York. In the past five years, Leonardo has been working with the Rome International Film Festival as a coordinator. His latest internationally screened documentary film project, Through Korean Cinema, has received several praises for its most authentic account on the country's history of cinema, as well as for its aesthetic quality.
The history of Korean cinema, narrated by a new Italian director through interviews with five of the most representative directors of the country: Im Kwon-taek, Park Gwang-soo, Lee Hyun-sae, Lee Chang-dong, and Park Chan-wook. A chronological journey through the history of the Korean events: the Japanese invasion, the Korea war, the economic development, the censures, the political repressions, up to our days.
