    was born in April 17, 1975 in Moscow. Graduated the faculty of the International University in 1996, worked in the specialty. In 1998 he entered Postgraduate Courses of Scriptwriters and directors (the studio feature film directing Vladimir Khotinenko, Paul Finn and Vladimir Fenchenko). In 2001-05 he studied at the directing department of the National Film School of France La Femis. Philippe Garrel invited him to work as an assistant on the movie "Constant Lovers, which won the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Also he worked as an assistant director Lyle Carax. The first independent not short film of Nikolay became the "Nine Seven Seven". This picture was the contestant for the prize "Un Certain Regard" at the Cannes Film Festival. Next movie - "The Tale about the darkness" with Alisa Khazanova in the lead role was in a contest programm of Kinotavr and the Cannes Film Festival.

Kostya is 23. He is an underground railway driver's assistant. One day the doctor says that Kostya has the heart disease: he can die any moment... Kostya decides not to tell anybody about his disease. He tries to live the same way as he lived before his illness was diagnosed. But he keeps thinking about the meaning of life.
